Reviews of the national hockey teams for you (Part 1)

Reviews of the national hockey teams were announced by the International Hockey Federation. How are places in this ranking distributed? Everything is simple – based on the results of the games held and participating in world championships. 

What does this review look like? It not only shows the name of the team, but also the number of points the team could have earned on a last year basis. So let’s go.

1. Canadian National Hockey Team – 3690 points

The Canadian national team, the parent hockey team, is considered to be one of the strongest teams on the international stage, in the 2016 IIHF world rankings it came in first place. In recent years, the Canadian team has been fully equipped with NHL players, with the exception of the 2016 World Cup, in which 23 players were summoned under the rules of the tournament, including three goalkeepers. Pittsburgh central striker Sidney Crosby has been appointed Canada captain for the 2016 World Cup. The twice Olympic champion consistently scores goals against his opponents in the final matches at the Olympics in Vancouver and Sochi. It is also one of the best and titled NHL scorers.

2. Russian national hockey team – 3675 points

The national team represents Russia in international ice hockey tournaments. Managed by the Russian Hockey Federation. It was first assembled in 1992, receiving the right to act in the group of the strongest at the World Cup as the heir to the Soviet national team

The Russian national team, taking into account the victories of the Soviet national team, is the world hockey leader in number of world championships wins – 27 (22 national team victories and 5 victories of the Russian national team). It is one of the strongest hockey teams in the world, in the 2017 IIHF rankings it comes in second place.
